Curriculum

The Professional Certificate in DRT is a course-based professional program.

  • The expected duration of the certificate is one year, consisting of three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer).
  • There will be an on-site orientation weekend at the beginning of the program in August.
  • The total course credit requirement is 21.

Courses

The program consists of eight courses with six courses (1 through 5 and 7 below) taught online and two courses (6 and 8 below) on-site.

Fall Semester – August through December

  1. Foundations, Models, and Theories in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (3 credits; online)
  2. Applied Research in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (4 credits; online)

Spring Semester – January through April

  1. Screening, Assessment, Evaluation, and Intervention in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (3 credits; online)
  2. Mentoring in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (3 credits; on-site)
  3. Independent Study 1 for Research in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (1 credit; online)

Summer Semester – May through July

  1. Seminars in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (3 credits; online)
  2. Skills and Competency Training and Testing in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (2 credits; on-site)
  3. Independent Study 2 for Research in Driver Rehabilitation Therapy (2 credits; online)
